The UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women is coming to the UK to examine what the UK Government and devolved administrations are doing to meet their obligations under CEDAW and other international treaties to address violence against women and girls. She will be in Scotland from the 3rd April 2014 to the 6th April 2014.
This event has been organised by Scottish Women’s Aid in partnership with Engender and Rape Crisis Scotland to support the UN Special Rapporteur’s visit to Scotland. During her visit the Special Rapporteur will be meeting with the Scottish Government and other public bodies to discuss how well Scotland is meeting its responsibility to address and prevent violence against women and girls.
We would like to invite you to this exciting event.
This event will give specialist Violence Against Women and Girls service providers an opportunity to tell the Special Rapporteur what they think the core challenges and accomplishments have been from their perspective as front-line service providers and representing the experiences of the women, children, and young people they support. This event is open to Non-Government Organisations only.
To book a place, please email booking@scottishwomensaid.org.uk, or telephone 0131 226 6606. Please let us know at the point of booking of any access or dietary requirements.
