The Parent Trap

Engender are happy to be a partner of the campaign, The Parent Trap, with NUS Scotland, Close the Gap and One Parent Families Scotalnd.

The campaign is highlighting the problem of students who are parents being excluded from further and higher education because of  a lack of  funding for childcare.  While childcare costs are an entitlement to student parents in England, in Scotland this funding is discretionary and as a result many are unable to take up the places they have been offered.

The Parent Trap calls for funding for childcare for student parents studying in Scotland to be a right, not a privilege.
