Recent Training

In January we ran a training course for Genderworks, an Oxfam project, funded by the European Commission, which explores the problems faced by women living in poverty across Europe. As part of the project, Engender provided a 2 day training course for women interested in influencing the way local services are planned and delivered. The course looked at how women are more likely to experience transient and persistant poverty throughout their lifetime than men and aimed to make women aware of how the gender duty can be made to work for them. The course was very successful with positive feedback.

We are also working with the Scottish Council for the Voluntary Sector (SCVO) on their Building Bridges project, delivering the ‘Women and Leadership’ programme with BEMIS. This is a personal skills development programme designed to address the under representation of black and minority ethnic women in the labour market.
