Niki Kandirikirira – Executive Director

Karen Dargo – Information Officer email: karen@engender.org.uk Karen has a long-standing interest in women’s issues and in particular women’s history. She spent most of her working life in the financial sector and has also worked as a helpline councillor on a voluntary basis. She joined Engender as our Administrator and has since been our Communications Lead. Now in the role of Information Officer she is responsible for our communictions output and produces our members updates, general newsletters and maintains our website. Karen has a BA in Communication Studies. 
Niki Kandirikirira spent 18 years working in Africa with VSO, British Red Cross [Sudanese Red Crescent] and most extensively, ACORD, a non-governmental organisation working with some of the poorest people in the continent. Her posts included Project Co-ordination, Country Co-ordination and finally Country Representation roles for Acord in Uganda and Namibia.
During her time in Africa, she developed a social exclusion analysis tool that explored the relationship between sexism, racism, ethnicity, adult-child relations and heterosexism that was adopted by Acord, Unicef and the Namibian Government. She has written articles, book chapters and made presentations about the use of this tool with regard to masculinities, racism and gender violence in post apartheid Africa in cooperation Bradford, LSE and Sussex Universities.
On returning to the UK Niki was involved in the change process of Acord as they restructured into an Africa-led international organisation. On moving to Scotland she has worked as Head of Policy and Research with the Scottish Human Services Trust and has most recently been self-employed managing Another World Inclusive (Ltd), her own consultancy company that promotes social inclusion, equality and diversity through the facilitation of transformative research and change management processes, training, coaching and mentoring.
Catriona Kirkpatrick - Membership and Administrative Assistant

Trina joined Engender as a volunteer in April ’09 and took up the post of Membership and Administrative Assistant in October ’09.
Trina has recently returned to work after taking a career break due to caring responsibilities. Prior to this, Trina had extensive experience of working in the voluntary sector in Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. She worked in the areas of disability, health promotion, adult education, violence against women and voluntary sector support. She has a BA and a Post Graduate qualification in Community Education.
Rosaria Votta - Projects Worker

Rosaria joined Engender as a volunteer in September 2009 and then in September 2010 took up the post of Projects Worker. It was during her studies at university where she developed a keen interest in gender issues and wrote her masters dissertation on Feminist Perspectives on International Human Rights Law. Rosaria has an MA honours in International Relations and a Masters in Law. She also volunteered at as part of the university Amnesty International society whilst at university.
