Engender's Everywoman campaign
9 Sep 2008
Government statistics tell us how many children and pensioners are living in poverty and unwittingly reveal why the numbers are proving so hard to bring down – the failure to acknowledge the gendered nature of poverty.
Engender’s ‘Everywoman’ poster and postcards highlight the gender issues which leave women more vulnerable to transient and persistent poverty in their lifetime and we believe that these are the issues that need to be tackled if we are to significantly reduce the number of children and pensioners living in poverty.
